Hooray... I've joined Orion Media.

For what seems like months now, about half the people I know have been asking me if I'm going to go and work with all my old friends at Orion Media. The answer can now be revealed... Yes!

When the question was first asked, it wasn't a yes at all. But the imminent rebranding of Heart 106 as Gem 106 means that I've now joined Orion as MD of Mercia. This gives Bob Norman the chance to give 100% of his time to Heart/Gem at this important time.

I have another role too, I'm Director of Commercial Online Development for Orion. That gives me chance to flex my digital muscles too. (Geek muscles?)

Today was my first day and - since I wasn't announced to the Mercia staff 'til lunchtime - I put in a solid half a day.

What a great bunch of people they are. I am going to really enjoy being part of the team there, and it seems the first job will be to sort out a leaving party for Bob "Party Animal" Norman.
